A story from a young child that will always stick with me and have encouraged me  to live  big and  let nothing stand in the way. A few years ago my company got a idea at Christmas time they were going to help a homeless shelter. When I heard there was children involved I could not even imagine not helping. I could not wait to get started. I made posters announcing we would be collecting toys and other personal items. I  put out boxes throughout the office, collected money. I was like a  kid in a  candy store Finally the day came We were to deliver the items to the shelter I remember walking in and thinking omg people really live here what is wrong with these parents why would they let there kids stay here. Then I saw the children they were so innocent and were so happy  seeing us carry stuff in. We started handing out gifts and the kids were so excited they were so happy I kept thinking to my self omg its just a doll. trying not to let any one see me cry i kept drying my eyes.A little  girl age 9 Melinda walked up she said "whats wrong" I  tried to say nothing but could not get it out she said please don't cry we are so excited you should be also we are so grateful for the stuff you  gave us and  wish we could do something for you all. As I sat there and talked to her i found out she had beat cancer and  her family was in there cause they lost there home her parents had spent every dime they had  for her treatment. The little girl told me her struggle of life  and said  remember God never gives any one more then they can handle. I will never in my life forget that statement.

  1. That is an amazing story. It is so shocking that sometimes we learn the biggest life lessons from the smallest of children. It was also very nice to hear that your place of employment helped out a homeless shelter. The people in these shelters need encouragement and assistance in many different ways. Thank you for the inspirational story and making my day a little brighter.

  2. What a wonderful story. It proves to us that children can make a difference and can inspire adults to do valuable work that would stick for long time.

  3. This is an incredible story! My company does something similar every Christmas and it is so touching to see how small acts and gifts can go such a long way in the heart of a child and their family. I agree that we learn the best lessons from some of the smallest people in the world.
